Although a relative newcomer to the ‘Silicon Valley’ model of scalable tech and software businesses, Leicester now has a thriving startup scene with a myriad of web, app and software-as-a-service startups.

Much of this activity is born out of Leicester’s more traditional creative and digital software houses, many of whom are taking the leap into producing their own products and services.

All three local universities are playing a big part in this offering support, office space and of course a stream of talented staff and students.

Part of what makes the startup scene so great is that there’s a real community spirit; with founders showing a strong “pay it forward” mentality, offering support, advice and mentoring to others who are starting out.
