When: 29th October 2021, 12pm-1pm
Have you ever wondered what COP26 actually means and how it may affect your business? This event aims to put businesses ‘in the picture.’
The lead up to the United Nations Climate Conference (COP26) is being hosted by the UK Government in Glasgow (31 October to 12 November) and issues around global warming, and the need to reduce our carbon usage to slow the effects of climate change, are becoming increasingly important.
Whilst COP26 is important in setting the national and global targets needed to slow down the effects of global warming, we will all need to play our part at a local level if we are to meet the challenging Government targets of reducing our carbon emissions by 78% by 2035. This event will look at what businesses can do to help and what support is available through grants.
Guest speakers include:
• Mary-Louise Harrison, LLEP Senior Projects Manager, Leicester & Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership Limited (LLEP)
• Gavin Fletcher, Midlands Energy Hub
• Sam Lux, Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS)
• Fiona Mahon, Climate Change Manager, Leicester City Council
When: Thursday 18th November
Where: The Belmont Hotel
Our guest speaker at the dinner will be the City Mayor, Sir Peter Soulsby.
The event marks LBV’s 20th anniversary and it is also the closing event at this year’s Leicester Business Festival. We hope that you can join us for this prestigious event in the business calendar. (more…)
