How to get involved

Leicestershire Business Voice provides an influential platform for our county’s businesses to help shape the commercial landscape. We organise some great monthly lunchtime meetups: often with leading local political and business speakers. Twice per year we organise evening events so everyone can let off a bit of steam.

News & views

“The Centre for Cities event was brilliant, with a presentation from Centre for Cities providing the latest economic data on how UK cities are performing against a wide range of indicators and how Leicester fares, followed by an excellent panel and Q&A session discussing some of the key findings and what it means at a local level and what we as business leaders can do.”

Ellie Smith, Business Development Director, SF Recruitment

“LBV is important to Mattioli Woods as it provides a platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and collaboration within the local business community, enabling growth opportunities and fostering a sense of community and support.”

Iain McKenzie, Chief Operating Officer, Mattioli Woods

“Nelsons has been a longstanding supporter of LBV, acting as a regular host for networking events. It’s always a pleasure to welcome members into our offices so they can get a feel for what we do here. LBV provides great opportunities for networking in quite different and unusual ways, with a strong focus on championing Leicester and informing people about the city.”

Laura Kearsley, Head of Employment and Education, Nelsons

“I have long been involved in the Leicester business community, since starting work a long time ago with Newby Castleman and KPMG. LBV is important to maintaining my network and meeting new like-minded individuals. Living in Oadby, I have a personal outlook on the city and I am a keen supporter of both Leicester Tigers and LCFC as a season ticket holder. Not only does Leicester have a great business culture, but a personal one too. Being part of LBV is important to growing our firm’s profile in the area." Through the regular events, and communication via newsletters and LinkedIn posts, LBV also helps us to stay in touch with the latest news and developments affecting Leicestershire businesses. This is particularly helpful for our staff who work here but aren’t local to the city and county.”

David Cairns, Senior Tax Partner, Hawsons

“The ability to talk to people both within and out of your sphere of influence is absolutely vital. Sometimes running a business can be a very lonely place and frankly, none of us have all the answers but the ability to talk, compare notes, share experiences, to take and indeed offer advice is important. LBV helps to orchestrate that and it is very welcome.”

Chris Sturgess, Chairman, Sturgess Motors
