Transport connectivity of Leicester – historically, not great. So what does the future look like?

Businesses rely on good transport connectivity. Historically Leicester has suffered from traffic congestion and we now see traffic levels returning to pre-pandemic levels. As well as constraining the efficiency of business, it is contributing to climate change and poor air quality.

Leicester is in the centre of the country, yet this locational advantage is eroded by some issues relating to connectivity with other cities. What changes need to be made and can businesses play a part to help?

This FREE LBV webinar will ask the questions and look for answers from a range of organisations.

  • Cllr Adam Clarke of Leicester City Council will share the future plans for the city to improve public transport, the new e-bike share scheme and the proposed Workplace Parking Levy
  • Chris Wright, Commercial Director for East Midlands Railway, will provide an update on the recently improved rail services for Leicester
  • Stacey Ash from Campaign for Reopening of the Ivanhoe Line, will offer the latest news to reinstate passenger trains between Burton and Leicester
  • Sarah Spink, Strategic Partnerships Lead for Midlands Connect, will outline a snapshot of the Midlands Connect projects that relate to Leicester and its surrounding area, plus the latest on HS2

Plus there will be the opportunity for businesses to ask their questions directly to the people making these crucial decisions.
