Leicester ranks ninth in key economic UK cities index

Published today, the Good Growth for Cities 2017 Index, which compares the economic performance of 42 of the UK’s largest cities. Data was taken from England’s Local Enterprise Partnerships; the new Combined Authorities and ten core indicators, the latter of which was based on the views of the public with regards to economic success and well-being.
Factors considered include health, income, employment, and skills. In addition, house affordability, commuting times and environmental factors were also taken into account.
Further good news came in the form of ranking third as a Top Improver since 2016.
“Leicester is leading the way amongst East Midlands cities for job growth and economic prosperity. This is something we ought to be immensely proud of.
