Although some new players were nudging into the SME market, most new businesses were still being advised by their accountants to choose one of the big four (which at the time still even included Midlands). Recent figures from the Office of National Statistics suggest a growth divide between East and West Midlands as growth in the West Midlands outstrips that in the East. So is it indeed the case that as well as a North South divide we now have an East West divide too? (more…)
