Finance now flowing from Midlands Engine Investment Fund

Four businesses have secured funding from the Midlands Engine Investment Fund, with Leicester’s BCME and Dudley’s Direct Digital Controls among the first to receive funding. The £120 million debt finance and small business loan funds are part of more than £250 million total commitment to support the growth of region’s SMEs.

Budget must include signs of Government plans for post-Brexit Britain

East Midlands Chamber, which will be staging a live-discussion round-table event as Mr Hammond delivers his budget, is hoping to see hints in his speech that Government is considering what life will be like for UK firms outside the EU and will introduce measures to ensure UK plc’s competitiveness post-Brexit. Leicester ranks ninth in key economic UK cities index

Published today, the Good Growth for Cities 2017 Index, which compares the economic performance of 42 of the UK’s largest cities. Data was taken from England’s Local Enterprise Partnerships; the new Combined Authorities and ten core indicators, the latter of which was based on the views of the public with regards to economic success and well-being.
