Lunchtime ‘Netwalking’ Event – Future of the City Centre Part 2

Event details:

When: 9 June, 12-1.30pm
Where:

LBV invites you to join us for a ‘Netwalk’ around the city from 12-1.30pm on Thursday 9 June.

Following on from the success of LBV’s Cities Outlook 2022 event in February this year, we would like to invite you to join us for a free, guided walk that will bring the regeneration of Leicester city to life.

Starting at Green Dragon Square, this two-mile jaunt through the city centre and along Leicester’s historic riverside and canal will provide a fascinating, first-hand perspective of some of the city’s most exciting new developments.

Witness first-hand how brownfield sites along the waterfront are being transformed into modern living spaces, and how our rich industrial heritage provides inspiration and opportunities for a new generation of entrepreneurs.

Welcome mid-walk drinks will be available at Framework Brewery, before continuing on to one of the city’s most recent and exciting venues, Lane 7 at the recently refurbished Great Central Station.

We expect the walk to take around 1-1.5 hours and although it is generally flat and paved, there are some steps and suitable footwear is recommended. Please also check the weather forecast on the day and come suitably attired.

You can view the route at https://ridewithgps.com/routes/39313195

If travelling bus or bike, head for the city centre, or if by car both the Highcross Centre and St Nicholas Circle car parks are convenient for the start / finish points.

Please note: This is an outdoor event that uses public spaces and footpaths. The route is quite short (approximately two miles) and involves a number of road crossings. We ask that participants feel sufficiently physically fit for participation in this activity and have not been advised to not participate by a qualified medical professional.
