Matt Fowler is the Principal of Peak Financial Partners serving owner operated business owners across Leicestershire. Peak Financial Partners is a Partner Practice of St James’s Place Wealth Management.
How would you describe what your business does?
Working predominately with owner operated business owners from across Leicestershire, our purpose is to provide financial clarity for today and financial confidence for the future through goals based financial planning.
What are the biggest opportunities for your business?
The demand for regulated, honest, and goals-focused financial planning is increasing in the UK. Despite the developments in do-it-yourself investment platforms and robo-advice offerings, the demand for personal, face-to-face advice continues to grow as people lacking the time, the inclination, or the confidence to manage their own financial affairs seek help from a trusted adviser. This increased demand, coupled with our focus of placing the client at the centre of the planning process, and not their money, provides a great opportunity.
What are the biggest challenges for your business?
As people naturally look to the short term and managing their spending during the challenges we’re all currently facing relating to our costs of living, the biggest challenge is keeping clients aligned to their longer-term financial plans.
What would you identify as the key strengths of Leicester and Leicestershire?
Having lived in the county for over 12 years I’m continually impressed by the diversity and community that extends throughout Leicester & Leicestershire. Our location as a county also provides for great access both domestically and internationally whether that’s by road, due to the close proximity to three motorways (M1, M69 & M6), a main line rail service or our proximity to two major airports (East Midlands & Birmingham).
What are the top three ways in which Leicester and Leicestershire can develop to support the business community?
- A commitment to enhancing the skills and development of existing and future business leaders for the continued growth of the business community.
- A collaborative environment where all sectors of the community are encouraged to share best practice and support each other for the purpose of developing expertise.
- Attracting investment to enable Leicester to become a more compelling alternative to Birmingham, Manchester, or London for start-up businesses.
Why is LBV important to you and your business?
