Community and Social Impact
Event details:
When: Wednesday 26 February 2025, 12-2pm
Where: DMU SDG Hub, Heritage House, 61 Southgates, Leicester, LE1 5RR

This event, in collaboration with Universities Partnership, will explore how we can engage with corporate social responsibility (CSR) and initiatives that positively impact Leicester and Leicestershire’s social, economic fabric and business.
CSR is a business approach in which companies actively seek to operate in a manner that benefits society and the environment, rather than causing harm.
By embracing CSR, companies can contribute to the betterment of society, whilst also cultivating a positive brand image. Attendees will learn about strategies for implementing CSR in their businesses, with a focus on creating a positive and healthy workplace.
LBV Director and Director of Creative62, Mark Robinson, will be sharing ‘A CSR story’.
Mukesh Bulsara, who is a fellow LBV Director and Partner at Coadax, will be explaining about B Corp, a certification that verifies that a business is meeting high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.
Joining the event as a speaker is James Trotter, Director of Procurement and Projects at the University of Leicester, who will be telling us more about the Social Value Portal – the UK’s leading online tool that helps organisations prioritise and measure their social value when they procure, or pay for, major services.
Also joining the event as a speaker is Stuart Reece from Leicestershire County Council’s ‘Healthy Workplace’ scheme. He will provide details on the information they can provide to local businesses, such as Mental Health First Aid training, Health MOTs and Healthy Conversation Skills for Managers training.
Esmé Ireson, the Head of Student Communities at Loughborough University Students’ Union, will be discussing the benefits of volunteering. She will talk about how volunteering can help to develop employability skills, make new friends, and make a positive impact in your local community.
Light refreshments will be provided.
